Honoring life: Antibiotice employees donated blood on World Health Day

On the occasion of the World Health Day, on April 8, 2013, under the motto ”Donate blood, save a life!” 60 former and current employees of our company volunteered to donate blood.

“This is the third year in a row that I take part in this campaign. It is a good opportunity that allows, by a minimum effort, to contribute to saving the lives of patients from Iaşi hospitals”, stated Ionuţ Părpăuţă, legal counselor within Antibiotice.

Now in its third edition, this event organized by the Antibiotice – Science and Soul foundation is developed in partnership with the Regional Centre for Blood Transfusion (CRTS) Iasi. The low supplies of the center and the constant need of blood in Iasi hospitals have prompted the Antibiotice – Science and Soul Foundation to ensure the continuity of the project, organizing a blood donation action among the company’s employees.

“We’d like to thank Antibiotice company and its employees for the gesture they made today,” stated Dr. Andreea Vatamanu, the spokesperson of CRTS Iasi.
The blood harvesting action took place within the clinical unit of the Centre for Research and Development, being carried out by CRTS specialists, who brought their equipment and logistics at Antibiotice.

Each employee partaking in the blood harvesting action received a red bracelet embossed “Antibiotice volunteer”. The aim is to create an active community of volunteers, involved in all actions of responsibility towards the community, undertaken by the Science and Soul Foundation.
