Antibiotice, 60 years of Romanian continuity and performance
Antibiotice, the most prominent Romanian manufacturer of generic drugs celebrated this December 60 years of existence on the pharmaceutical market. The anniversary was marked by several events. Amongst the events which took place at the company’s headquarters there was a conference entitled “Antibiotice – 60 years of continuity and performance in the Romanian pharmaceutical industry”.
The event was attended by personalities of the medical community, representatives of regulatory agencies and professional associations in the field, representatives of financial, banking and academic institutions and business partners. The guests underlined the important role that Antibiotice plays in the Romanian health system as well as the fact that our company is a key representative of the Romanian pharmaceutical market.
“As an organization we kept on developing over time, we kept on evolving as professionals and today we contemplate the age that we celebrate in multiple ways: in the health brought to millions, in the assimilated international quality standards that we observe, in the performance of having become an authentic Romanian brand recognized both nationally and internationally”, stated Ioan Nani, the General Manager of Antibiotice Iaşi.
The constant positive evolution of our company is reflected in the financial indicators and business goals achieved. The value of sales revenues grew by 48% during the past 6 years and the gross profit increased by 24 million lei during the same period, amounting 37.4 million lei by the end of 2014. At the same time with a market capitalization of over 78 million lei, Antibiotice has been declared the largest company in the drug manufacturer’s sector listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, with over 18 years of continuous presence on the capital market.
Antibiotice, the most prominent Romanian manufacturer of generic drugs has created a complex portfolio of 159 medicines covering 12 therapeutic classes addressing cardiovascular, oncology, central nervous system, skin, digestive tract and metabolism diseases. Currently, Antibiotice is a noteworthy exporter of a total of 70 drugs to more than 70 countries worldwide. The Nystatin active substance is the best selling export product for which Antibiotice has become a world leader in 2013.
