Antibiotice’s employees planted 500 trees

On November 20, 2024, over 80 employees of Antibiotice Iași planted 500 hornbeams, linden trees, oaks, black locusts, and wild cherries on the industrial platform, as part of the 5th edition of the “We Plant Oxygen in the Community” project.

Through such projects that integrate nature into urban spaces, a concept increasingly used across Europe to limit climate change, the company aims to maintain a balance between the expansion of built-up areas through sustainable investments and the green spaces on the Antibiotice Iași platform.

Currently, over 50% of the industrial platform’s area is covered by green spaces, shrubs, and trees. The company’s strategy is to continuously rejuvenate and expand the green zone to improve its environmental impact.

The planting event, which involved 80 employees, aimed at creating a green protective belt on the eastern side, near the European road E85.

In this way, the company positively responds to legislative recommendations for setting up such green areas to reduce the visual and noise impact of industrial zones and to improve air quality.

The voluntary involvement of Antibiotice Iași employees in this project reflects their desire to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment, a concern that is increasingly present among the younger generation.

“By offering this gift to nature, I feel that I am leaving a legacy for future generations. I am happy that I could do this in the company where I work. It’s a small gesture, but one that has an impact on nature, the community, and myself”, said Alexandra Doboș, production flow coordinator at Antibiotice Iași, one of the volunteers.

Over the five editions of the “We Plant Oxygen in the Community” project, Antibiotice Iași has planted over 2,500 saplings and 6,000 shrubs, turning these initiatives into a “green gift” for the community.Expanding green spaces significantly contributes to a positive impact on quality of life, environmental protection, and limiting climate change, actions to which the company is committed, setting the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by 2030.
